Q: How do I know which university is my home institution?
A: Your home institution is the university where you are currently admitted. If you have other questions contact the registrar’s office at UNT Dallas 972-780-3664 or UNT at 940-565-2111.

Q: When is the last semester I will be able to receive services from both UNT and UNT Dallas, i.e. transcript requests, enrollment verification, financial aid, advising, etc.? 
A: The last semester that you can receive services on both campuses, regardless of which institution is your home institution, is summer 2015. Beginning Aug. 21, 2015, you will use the services provided specifically by your home institution.

Q: What is the last semester I am able to enroll in classes at both UNT and UNT Dallas before being required to apply for admission at both institutions?
A: Summer 2015 will be the last semester in which you will be able to view and register for courses at both UNT Dallas and UNT. After that, you must register through the Affiliate Program.

Q: What’s the process to continue taking courses at both UNT and UNT Dallas after Aug. 21, 2015?
A: If you are a UNT Dallas student and wish to enroll for classes at UNT, you must apply for admission to UNT as a “transient” student through ApplyTexas.org. You then can be accepted through the Affiliate Program.

Please note that there is no application fee to apply to the affiliate institution through the Affiliate Program.

Q: I am a UNT Dallas undergraduate student. How do I take classes at UNT?
A: Beginning Fall 2015, you can participate in the Affiliate Program.

  • Apply for admission to UNT through ApplyTexas.org as a “transient” student. There will be no application fee, and you can be admitted as a non-degree seeking student for one semester.
  • To continue in the Affiliate Program after the initial semester, you must seek approval from your academic advisor.
  • You can register for fall classes at UNT Dallas beginning April 16. You can register for UNT classes through the Affiliate Program May 11.
  • Undergraduate students may not take more than 75 percent of their hours at UNT.
  • Graduate students may not take more than 67 percent of their hours at UNT.

Q: I am a UNT undergraduate student. How do I take classes at UNT Dallas?

Q: I am a UNT Dallas graduate student. How do I take classes at UNT?

Q: Beginning in fall 2015, as a UNT Dallas student, what will change with regard to my login credentials and process of logging into the system?  Will my registration process be impacted?
A: Your login credentials will remain the same, although there will be a change in where you go to login. During the spring and summer 2015 registration periods, UNT Dallas students will have access to both the my.UNT.edu portal and the my.UNTDallas.edu portal.

Spring and summer 2015: You will use the my.UNT.edu system to register, accept financial aid and scholarships, pay for your tuition, etc.

Fall 2015: When this registration period opens, you will then begin using my.UNTDallas.edu for everything. Your my.UNT.edu account will become inactive for fall 2015.

Q: As a declared student at UNT or UNT Dallas, will my course work completed at either campus transfer across both campuses?
A: All course work completed prior to fall 2015 at either campus will transfer to UNT and UNT Dallas. All coursework at the affiliate institution completed in fall 2015 and beyond will be considered as “transfer” credit. Be sure to discuss course options with your academic advisor at your home institution before registering for a course at the affiliate institution, in order to ensure that the course will satisfy degree requirements.

Q: Will my Student Academic Progress (SAP) change?
A: All students’ SAP will remain the same.
