Director of Policy

What does my job title really mean:
I work on public policy issues impacting the UNT System.

What is my education and some past achievements:
After graduating from the University of Texas with a history degree, I worked as a freelance reporter and at The Austin Chronicle before joining the UNT System's Austin office. I went to law school at the University of Miami, where I was a fellow at our Community Health Rights Education Clinic and Senior Articles Editor of the UM Law Review. I then practiced law at Hunton & Williams LLP, focusing on First Amendment, media, and commercial litigation.

What brought me to the UNT System:
I worked for the UNT System Office of Governmental Relations before law school. When the opportunity arose to return to Austin and work on public policy, I was excited to rejoin to the UNT System.

What I like best about my job is:
I love working with such talented and committed people on issues that genuinely make a difference in people's lives.

If I ever leave work early, I can probably be found:
Enjoying Austin with my son, Ben.

People would be surprised to know that I:
Am a big baseball fan.

The most interesting thing that I have learned since working
for the UNT System is:

I have been fascinated to learn how much the System has to offer both its students and the North Texas community.
