Chris McCoy is the Chief Information Officer for the University of North Texas System. McCoy joined the UNT System in 2019 with more than 30 years of information technology experience in higher education. McCoy is skilled in IT strategy, portfolio management, team development, business management and change leadership with a proven ability to transform organizations into high-functioning, over-achieving teams that deliver services with high satisfaction. As the CIO for the UNT System, McCoy oversees the central information technology operation that supports the University of North Texas, University of North Texas at Dallas, University of North Texas Health Science Center and UNT System Administration. Before joining the UNT System, McCoy spent four years at the University of Arkansas as Associate Vice Chancellor for IT and Chief Information Officer and later as Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration. He holds an Executive MBA from the University of Iowa, an M.E. in systems engineering and a bachelor's degree in computer science from Iowa State University.
