LeMay joined the UNT System in September, 2015, as the Senior Associate Controller, leading the University of North Texas’ (UNT) accounting operation. In this new role, LeMay will provide leadership and strategic direction to the UNT System’s accounting, financial reporting, external audit, internal financial controls, payments and payroll operations, as well as to support centers for UNT, UNT Health Science Center, UNT Dallas and the UNT System Administration Office.
“Aaron has a wealth of higher education experience leading accounting staff, developing accounting information systems, managing financial improvement projects and managing accounting control and reporting operations for State of Texas institutions,” Waldron said. “We are confident that he and his team will build on progress made by our finance team at the UNT System.”
Prior to joining the UNT System, LeMay served as Associate Vice President for Finance and Controller for Sam Houston State University. Previously, he was a Research Accountant at Rice University and clerk for Judge Brent Gamble in the 270th Civil Court, Harris County. LeMay also held accounting positions at Baylor University and was an auditor in the offices of Pattillo, Brown, & Hill, L.L.P.
LeMay received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting and Biblical Studies Language from Ouachita Baptist University. He earned a Master of Science in Education Student Affairs Administration from Baylor University and his Doctor of Jurisprudence from South Texas College of Law. He is a certified public accountant, as well as a member of the State Bar of Texas.
