As the Associate Vice Chancellor for Facilities Design & Construction, Cassandra Nash is responsible for design and construction of projects over $2M at all campuses (unless delegated). Her team ensures compliance with the Master Plan of each campus and manages design and construction of all new construction and renovation. She also contributes to the development of Capital Plans for the System and campuses, ensures quality control and compliance with Life Safety and Building codes and is responsible for cost control and project management of capital projects.
Cassandra earned a Bachelor of Architecture from Iowa State University and a Masters of Architectural Urban Planning from the University of Oklahoma. She began her service with the UNT System in 2009 as a Senior Project Manager in the Office of Facilities Planning and Construction, advancing to the Senior Director for System Administration in October 2013 and the Associate Vice Chancellor in 2016. Prior to that, Cassandra worked in the private sector. She is a licensed architect in the state of Oklahoma.
Cassandra began serving as the Interim Vice Chancellor for Facilities Planning and Construction on June 1, 2018. In this capacity, she is responsible for oversight of all major facility design and construction projects including architect and contractor selection, design development, field oversight of ongoing projects, and campus master planning for all of the University of North Texas (UNT) System campuses. The Vice Chancellor also is responsible for all real estate activities of the System including land acquisition and mineral leases.
